Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer, and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed, and extruded products for the building industry.
Role Overview
The ASM will be responsible for converting sales leads into profitable business contracts while developing and maximising relationships with existing and new customers, including Roofing, Builders, and Plumbing merchants and distributors. The role involves creating demand by gaining business with builders and contractors and conducting site visits to ensure specifications are being adhered to.
This position covers the South Thames area. Candidates should reside within the patch, which includes areas such as BN, BR, CR, CT, DA, GU, KT, ME, RH, SE, SM, SW, TN, TW.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all customer contact, market intelligence, and stakeholder information, ensuring timely updates to the Sales Director using systems like Salesforce.
- Generate sales leads into profitable business, maximising revenue through strategic pursuit of target accounts, including existing and new accounts, and qualified leads.
- Develop long-term relationships with a designated group of customers and develop new leads and opportunities to maximise sales.
- Provide timely, accurate quotations and proposals aligned with customer requirements to support new lead development.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure resources and support are available for proposals.
- Offer expert advice on the product portfolio to both new and existing customers.
- Identify opportunities to sell additional products and develop business with competitors’ customers.
- Contribute to sales bids and support the overall sales strategy.
- Assist senior management in planning and communicating new products to customers.
- Maintain knowledge of technological developments within the company’s product area.
Skills & Requirements
- Experience in external sales or account management.
- Experience in the building construction industry, particularly with merchants.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to produce accurate quotations and presentations.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the UK.
