Area Sales Engineer - North of England (M62 Corridor)

Location: Covering the North of England, predominantly the M62 Corridor

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + OTE & Company Car

About the Role

My client, a UK leader in their field, are looking for a dynamic and driven Area Sales Engineer to join their team. As the first point of contact for both new and existing customers, you will play a key role in driving sales growth and strengthening their position as a market leader in CNC Machinery. This role requires a deep understanding of customer needs, market trends, and industry challenges, as well as the ability to build lasting relationships. In addition to sales calls and meetings, you will also represent the company at key industry events and exhibitions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Achieve sales and growth targets while providing exceptional customer service.
  2. Deliver high-quality presentations to promote products and services to new and existing clients.
  3. Maintain strong relationships with customers through regular communication and documented reports.
  4. Attend and participate in exhibitions and conferences, professionally representing the brand.
  5. Negotiate and close orders in line with agreed sales targets.
  6. Manage customer queries on both technical and commercial levels.
  7. Work collaboratively with the wider team to contribute to company success.
  8. Plan and manage budgets effectively.
What I'm Looking For?
  1. Experience selling high-value equipment in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
  2. Knowledge of the steel machining sector and capital equipment is desirable.
  3. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to create technical documents, reports, and quotations.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  5. A proactive, customer-focused approach, balancing client needs with business objectives.
