Overview

Area Sales Engineer Industrial Electrical Control & Automation Excellent Negotiable Salary dependent upon experience, plus excellent benefits of Car, Pension, Buy/Sell holidays, and more.

On behalf of our Client we have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Area Sales Engineer/Area Sales Manager with a proven track record as a business developer and excellent salesman in the Electrical Control and Automation industry to join the team of this first class business.

The successful candidate will be selling a range of high quality Industrial Automation products, i.e. PLC, Control Gear, Switchgear & Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, HMI and Process Instrumentation into the OEM, End User, System Integrator and Panel Builder markets throughout the North of the Tyne area, including, North Shields, Whitley Bay, Wallsend, Longbenton, Jesmond, Cramlington, Blyth etc, which would all be suitable base locations.

Responsibilities
  • Achieve defined sales targets and develop a personal sales plan to achieve objectives.
  • Manage and further develop an existing portfolio of accounts while identifying new avenues of business.
  • Promote and sell a range of Industrial Automation products to OEMs, End Users, System Integrators and Panel Builders in the specified North Tyne region.
  • Demonstrate strong organisation and communication skills and work effectively as part of a team while maintaining a degree of autonomy.
  • Utilise Microsoft packages and related tools to support sales activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Experience as a Sales Engineer, Area Sales Manager or Technical Salesperson within Industrial Automation with a proven sales track record.
  • A formal qualification in Electrical/Electronic discipline to ONC/HND or above is desirable but not essential; the ability to demonstrate knowledge and sales ability is acceptable.
  • Ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies and plans.
  • Good organisational and communication skills; capability to work autonomously while contributing to a team.
  • Knowledge/experience with PLC, Control Gear, Switchgear & Circuit Protection, Variable Speed Drives, Sensors, HMI and Process Instrumentation is preferred.
