Job summary

Corps Security is seeking a highly skilled SIA licensed Security Officer to join our team for holiday and sickness cover, with potential for fixed shift allocations. You will work across client premises, maintaining surveillance, briefing visitors, and managing access procedures.

We offer internal development and the chance for permanent roles. Shifts cover days, nights and weekends (07:00-19:00 days, 19:00-07:00 nights). We value a proactive, professional security service.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and a strong customer focus.
• SIA Front-Line License is essential.
• Full UK Driving Licence and own vehicle or reliable transport.
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
• Proficient IT skills including Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
• Ensure all visitors and contractors are briefed, sign in/out, and are properly escorted.
• Record entry/exit of deliveries and process paperwork per site procedures.
• Ensure patrols are carried out to required standards.
• Set/unset primary and secondary alarm systems for out-of-hours security where applicable.
• Complete daily occurrence logs, shift handovers, incident records, and site-specific reports.
• Familiarise with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments and safety documents; advise duty manager or client on changes.
• Maintain training records via Corps Colleague Portal, ensuring up-to-date first aid and fire marshal training.
• Continuously apply SIA skills, maintaining professionalism; display SIA licence.
• Perform ad hoc duties as directed.

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer to be trained and required to work at several of our client’s premises to assist us with holiday and sickness cover, with a view to being allocated a fixed shift pattern, when the opportunities arise.

You will be working various hours covering Days, Nights and Weekends. Day shifts will be 07:00-19:00 and Night shifts will be 19:00-07:00.

What you will need:

• Excellent communication skills and a strong customer focus.
• A valid SIA Front-Line License - essential
• Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good and effective working relationships at all levels.
• Ability to work to deadlines, multitasking and working under pressure.
• Excellent IT Skills including Microsoft Software Packages (e.g. Excel)
• Full UK Driving License and own vehicle or reliable transport
• Able to achieve vetting to BS7858 Standards

What are you going to do:

• Maintain overall surveillance of the site, carrying out regular site patrols and recording these as per Corps and Customer requirements.
• Ensuring all visitors and contractors to site are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
• Record the entry and exit of delivery whilst on site, including processing of paperwork in line with site quality procedures.
• To ensure that patrols are carried out and to the correct standards.
• Set and unset primary and secondary alarm security systems for out of hours security provision if applicable.
• Complete documents as required including daily occurrence log, shift handover, incident/accident records and any site-specific reports.
• Ensure you are familiar with Assignment Instructions, Risk Assessments, and other quality & safety documents; advise Corps Duty Manager and/or client personnel on any changes or recommendations to improve.
• Maintain your own training records via Corps Colleague Portal such that your skills remain up to date, and in particular your first aid and fire marshal training is in accordance with legislative guidelines.
• Continuously apply your SIA skills, maintaining a high level of professionalism. Your SIA licence must be always displayed.
• Perform ad hoc duties as directed.
