Job description

We are seeking an Area Operations Manager at Thames Water to oversee daily water production across multiple sites in the Guildford & South West Surrey area.

This high-profile role offers the opportunity to shape and implement the strategic direction of Water Production for the UK’s largest water company.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure efficient delivery of wholesome drinking water while maintaining regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the operation and maintenance of water treatment, storage, and transmission assets, leading a team of up to 30 staff.
  • Engage with stakeholders including customers, regulators, emergency services, and political groups.
  • Achieve performance targets in health & safety, customer service, financial controls, regulatory compliance, and team development, while driving continuous improvements and operational cost reductions.
  • Develop operational strategies to meet regulatory and capacity requirements, coordinate with Thames Water’s capital works program.
