About the opportunity

This is an important role in which you will be an integral member of the WA management team responsible for managing the safe, efficient and cost-effective operations of concrete plants in the area, focussing on maximising the performance of people, plant and fleet to meet operational standards while delivering the required customer service standards. You will also hold a shared responsibility for the sales and commercial activity within your area and overall P&L responsibility against the area budget.

Key responsibilities
  • Working closely with Concrete Area Managers and Production Supervisors to achieve efficient and cost-effective operation at all sites.
  • Ensuring product and service that meets customer requirements.
  • Engaging with plant staff and drivers and providing strong leadership in health and safety, the environment, operations management, cost management and operational improvement.
  • Ensuring safety standards are met through strong people leadership.
  • Managing daily operations with a focus on improvement.
  • Driving customer relationships to ensure suitable outcomes.
  • Controlling costs across plant and fleet.
  • Demonstrating effective leadership to ensure a highly motivated team.
  • Managing, developing, coaching and supporting production supervisors, production officers, company drivers and other plant staff.
About you
  • Credible leadership experience in construction, production or industrial manufacturing related fields (ideally concrete or aggregates).
  • A tertiary qualification (e.g., Engineering or Business Management) or related disciplines (preferred).
  • Strong team player with interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Understanding of the importance of and ability to effectively communicate and build relationships within the Concrete business and across the wider Holcim business.
  • Experience in SAP, Excel, Word.
  • Customer focus with the ability to cultivate relationships and build strong networks.
  • Demonstrated business and financial acumen.
  • Highly organised, detail oriented and able to work well under pressure.
