Job description

Thorn Baker is collaborating with an established Facilities Management company, with an area based in and around Oxfordshire.

We are seeking to resource a Cleaning Area Manager to effectively manage and monitor high-end retail sites.

The ideal candidate is currently in a similar role or ready to advance from a cleaning supervisor position. Experience in the retail sector is essential.

This role offers opportunities for growth and internal progression. You will manage multiple sites without feeling overwhelmed and be part of a team that values listening and autonomy.

The main duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ensuring work complies with company policies, procedures, and legislation.
  2. Maintaining contract retention targets.
  3. Following health and safety protocols, conducting quarterly audits, and monthly inspections.
  4. Managing recruitment, onboarding, and employee development.
  5. Motivating and supervising a competent workforce.
  6. Controlling operational costs and implementing cost-saving initiatives.
  7. Planning and organizing operational activities and work schedules.
  8. Managing client escalations.
  9. Ensuring adequate staffing and supervision.
  10. Conducting performance reviews.
  11. Maintaining equipment and materials at the site.
  12. Conducting timely audits.
