Area Manager - Newcastle, Newcastle upon Tyne

Thorn Baker are working in collaboration with an established Facilities Management company based in Newcastle and surrounding areas.

We are looking to resource a Cleaning Area Manager to effectively manage and monitor 15 retail sites across the North East of the UK.

Our client is seeking someone who is currently in a similar role or ready to step up from being a cleaning supervisor, with a background in a similar environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Ensure work complies with company policies, procedures, and legislation.
  • Maintain contract retention targets.
  • Follow all Health and Safety protocols, conduct quarterly audits, and monthly inspections.
  • Manage recruitment, onboarding, and training of employees.
  • Motivate and develop a competent workforce.
  • Control overheads and operational costs to ensure profitability.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives where applicable.
  • Plan and organize operational activities and work schedules.
  • Ensure adequate staffing and supervision at all sites.
  • Conduct performance reviews for employees.
  • Ensure availability of equipment and materials at sites.
