Job description

Thorn Baker is collaborating with an established Facilities Management company in the Bedfordshire area.

We are seeking a Cleaning Area Manager to effectively oversee and monitor high-end retail sites.

The ideal candidate is currently in a similar role or ready to advance from a cleaning supervisor position. Experience in the retail sector is essential.

The main duties include, but are not limited to:

  1. Ensuring all work complies with company policies, procedures, and legislation.
  2. Maintaining contract retention targets and ensuring they are consistently met.
  3. Following health and safety protocols and conducting quarterly H&S audits and monthly cleaning inspections.
  4. Managing recruitment and selection of staff.
  5. Training, developing, and onboarding employees.
  6. Motivating and managing a competent workforce.
  7. Controlling overheads and operational costs to ensure profitability.
  8. Implementing cost-saving initiatives where applicable.
  9. Planning and organizing operational activities and overseeing work schedules.
  10. Managing client escalations effectively.
  11. Ensuring the site is adequately staffed and services are properly supervised.
  12. Conducting performance reviews for employees.
  13. Ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and materials.
  14. Carrying out timely audits.
