Job description

Area Manager (Amazon Now-Quick Commerce), GSF Last Mile

Area Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development, and operations objectives of our Amazon Fresh Fulfillment Center. Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team of Team Leads, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations, and developing leadership bench strength within the Fulfillment Center.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Driving creation of staffing plans, schedules, quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other Six Sigma projects to meet and exceed Business Plan goals.
  2. Setting and clarifying requirements and expectations for Area Managers.
  3. Measuring performance, providing feedback, and holding Team Leads accountable for their teams' performance.
  4. Sharing best practices across departments, shifts, and the network.
  5. Collaborating with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, IT, and other Operations Managers) to support projects and initiatives.
  6. Addressing operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area.
  7. Identifying and surfacing issues that could impact multiple areas, along with solutions, to senior management.

The core focus areas are safety, quality, customer experience, and productivity. Responsibilities also include reviewing work forecasts, balancing labor, supporting safety and OSHA compliance, and leading process improvements using Lean tools.

Basic Qualifications
  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon experience
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays
  • Ability to push and pull loaded wheeled dollies up to 100 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques
