Area Manager

Pinnacle Group is looking for a dynamic and experienced Area Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping an efficient and positive workplace culture to deliver exceptional housing management services to service families across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and the East Midlands.This exciting opportunity is based on the landmark National Accommodation Management Services contract for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO), which has been providing housing management to approximately 49,000 service family homes since March 2022.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Area Manager will be responsible for leading, supporting and developing a team of mobile Housing Officers strategically dispersed across the designated geographical area. This team will be dedicated to delivering high-quality, family-centred services throughout the occupancy cycle and while families are residing in their homes. The focus is on enhancing the lived experience behind every move in, move out, repairs and maintenance process, ensuring they receive top-quality housing management services. Key to success in this role is the ability to foster strong collaborative relationships with local industry partners, DIO our client, key stakeholders such as family's federations, military liaison officers and senior service personnel.

Frequent travel across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire, and the East Midlands will be necessary, the day-to-day location will need to be flexible to meet evolving business needs. This is a hands-on role, requiring a minimum of four days per week in the field, working directly with teams, customers and clients. Occasional national travel will be required. The role is subject to enhanced security clearance. We welcome candidates from a broad range of different backgrounds and experiences - not just candidates with housing experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide services to families as part of the occupancy cycle such as planning for, attending, and administering pre move out, move out, pre move in, move in and 14-day observation (settling in) visit appointments while working collaboratively with industry partners to meet the required standards
• Ensure occupancy standards are met and recharges allocated as appropriate using a combination of personal audits, staff training, coaching and analysis of complaints and other feedback from stakeholders
• Ensure excellent and sensitive regional housing services are delivered while families are living in their homes including where aids and adaptations (ANDA) are required and there are welfare/support needs
• Develop and maintain in partnership with stakeholders the regional housing element of Estate Management Plans
• Deliver the regional housing element of CAAS
• Lead, plan, monitor daily and approve housing officer dairies in long term scheduling and short notice changes ensuring that housing officers have sufficient time for standard appointments and to improve the lived experience of families, their community/patch and to engage with stakeholders
• Routinely liaise and consult with the Regional Manager on short/long term planning and with other area managers in your region and other UK regions in the event cross regional resourcing is needed.
• In consultation with the regional management team, plan for and lead large scale and sometimes short notice moves in your area and support this in other regions (may require UK travel)
• Liaise, engage, and work in partnership with a range of internal and external stakeholders such as local agencies, charities, support providers, military liaison officers, family's federations, service hubs and statutory authorities to deliver joined up support and services to families
• Liaising with the Customer Solutions Manager ensure complaints, councillor and member of parliament enquiries are investigated and resolved with any immediate learning being addressed within the team and service
• Recruit, supervise, manage, coach, support and develop your team to deliver excellent services and generate a continuous improvement culture in line with Pinnacle's performance framework and values. You will be a highly visible leader and manager to stakeholders and staff
• Being responsible for the day-to-day management of Pinnacle staff both mobile and based in offices ensure the highest standards of Health and Safety for staff and families.
• Contribute to planning and control budget expenditure managing resources to achieve value for money.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years management experience working in a complex operational environment
• Preferred : providing housing management or community-based services
• Experience and demonstrable success in implementing service change and new ways of working
• Full driving licence
• Demonstrates commitment to and passion for providing enhanced services to service families
• Knowledge of and commitment to Equality and Diversity
