BAT has an exciting opportunity for an Area Head of Corporate Technology, Western Europe in London, UK.

This role involves partnering with Corporate Business Functions in the respective DRBU Geographies as a trusted advisor, translating business strategies into IDT plans and budgets, and providing insights to improve business performance. The position is part of Western Europe IDTLT and will focus on deploying IDT Designs (Capabilities, Plans) into End Markets. The role requires engagement with business function leadership teams (SP&I, Finance, LeX, HR) across the DRBU to understand business processes, strategies, and priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Strategic business interface with relevant boards/functions in DRBU
  2. Ensuring planning, deployment, and value realization of IDT Capabilities considering a Globally Designed – Locally Deployed approach
  3. Ensuring compliance with global policies and standards, and staying updated on the latest technologies in corporate functions
  4. Engaging with business leaders to understand processes and strategies, becoming a trusted strategic advisor
  5. Introducing internal/external expertise to add value to the business
  6. Maintaining effective stakeholder relationships within Business and IDT, representing the voice of IDT in Business and vice versa
  7. Driving commercial outcomes aligned with strategic priorities using technology as an enabler
  8. Developing talent within the team and fostering a high-performing culture
  9. Communicating effectively across multiple IDT and non-IDT functions
  10. Working with diverse stakeholders globally and locally
  11. Aligning omni-channel capabilities to meet end-to-end requirements
  12. Working across agile and waterfall methodologies
  13. Partnering with and leveraging the power of GBS

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience in Marketing IT leadership, working with Digital Marketing, e-commerce, CRM, SEO, paid media
  • Experience delivering projects through Traditional & Agile frameworks; certifications in digital technologies and Agile Project Management are desirable
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing principles and trade marketing principles
  • Deep knowledge of Data and Analytics
  • Experience in consumer goods or retail industries is preferred
  • Ability to handle suppliers and agencies effectively
  • Creative, able to work in a fast-paced matrix environment, and good at time management
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal
