Job summary

Today, Assystem is seeking an Area Engineering Manager in Warrington to lead a multi-disciplinary team through Stage 3 and into Stage 4, ensuring delivery to schedule and cost. The role requires deep engineering discipline knowledge, experience in regulated environments, and the ability to coordinate with clients and suppliers on complex nuclear-related projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering background with a proven record of successful delivery.
• Significant experience in an engineering design environment.
• Experience in regulated and quality‑assured systems (preferably nuclear).
• Knowledge of governing laws, regulations, and standards for the nuclear industry.
• Experience with Project System Engineering and the system engineering approach to design.
• Familiarity with NEC3 contract terms and conditions.
• Experience in the delivery of cooling systems and CE&I power distribution projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-disciplinary engineering team to meet schedule and cost.
• Drive Stage 2 appraisal and Stage 3 design deliverables.
• Complete Stage 3 preliminary design and design assurance activities.
• Act as AEM and coordinate estimating, scheduling, and deliverables.
• Interface with other Project Discipline Leads and clients.
• Support Stage 4 delivery estimates and supplier engagement.
• Collaborate with construction, commissioning, pre-ops, human factors, and stakeholders to meet functional requirements.
