Kent County Council seeks a committed Area Education Business Support Officer to support senior education officials in South Kent. The role involves complex diary management, administrative tasks, and maintaining confidentiality. Ideal candidates should demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills, with a willingness to work flexibly and effectively under pressure.
An opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated, committed Business Support Officer to join the Children, Young People and Education Provision Planning team in South Kent in August/September 2025.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing support and assistance to the Assistant Director Education (South Kent) and the Area Schools Organisation Officer, to assist in the smooth running of the service and its day-to-day functioning. We are looking for someone who possesses excellent IT, organisational, and problem-solving skills. You will need to handle complex diary management and oversee various administrative systems on behalf of the Assistant Director.
Applicants should be extremely organised with excellent time management skills and the ability to take accurate and timely minutes of meetings.
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and demonstrate excellent communication and customer care skills, with a professional and confident telephone manner, especially under pressure. You may have access to sensitive information, so a strong understanding of confidentiality is essential.

We are currently working flexibly, and the contractual base will be Kroner House, Ashford.

This is a customer-facing role. The Council has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have sufficient command of spoken English/Welsh for effective job performance. Standards are detailed in the Job Description/Person Specification.
The closing date is Friday, 11th July 2025. Shortlisting will occur on Monday, 14th July, with interviews scheduled for the week commencing 21st July.
