Reporting to the Sales Director for Orthopaedics, you will coach an effective first-line sales team, emphasizing “Challenger” and business acquisition capabilities. The role covers London and the wider South East Region (it's important you live within this area).

You will develop your team's proficiency in procedures, pathology, and products of our Orthopaedics (recon) surgical area, as well as enhancing their capabilities to drive business across multiple clinical and economic partners.

Handling regional resources in CAPEX investment, Medical Education, and Samples/Demo spend, you will be accountable for profitability targets and objective setting, ensuring alignment with business strategy, including reporting on monthly sales director updates.

  • Meet sales and profit targets on portfolio products across a specified region.
  • Lead and deliver principal commercial deals and high-value pipeline business through strong analysis, account strategy development, and profitable deal execution.
  • Manage Capital Investment Resources (systems, sets, etc.) in the region to ensure maximum return on assets.
  • Build and support a leading industry team capable of selling at all levels by utilizing advanced sales practices. Upskill your team through coaching, mentoring, and development.
  • Maintain product, procedure, and pathology knowledge, along with selling and negotiation skills (such as Challenger Selling).
  • Have in-depth knowledge of local contracts and tenders, working closely with the Commercial Team to ensure profitable deals and share growth.
  • Develop strong customer relationships and networks with key partners (clinical/key opinion leaders and economic partners) to develop local and national opportunities.
What does success look like:

Success will be measured by revenue growth and improved service provision, along with efficiency in business interactions with customers. It involves taking strategic responsibility for your area, working with your team and customers to deliver value for patients. Strategic relationships should maximize sales revenue across the geography, impacting existing and new accounts to proactively drive growth.

Successful candidates will need the following:
  • Experience in medical device sales, ideally within orthopaedics, but products sold in the theatre environment will also be considered.
