Job summary

A leading UAV technology company in Salisbury is seeking an experienced Ardupilot Software Engineer. The role involves developing cutting-edge flight control systems and optimizing performance for UAVs. Candidates should have hands-on experience with Ardupilot and a strong knowledge of MAVLink. This full-time position offers a competitive salary of £50,000 to £60,000, with various benefits including a pension scheme and private health insurance.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience with Ardupilot or similar autopilot stacks.
• Strong knowledge of UAV communication protocols.
• Excellent understanding of safety-related engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop, configure, and test Ardupilot-based flight control systems.
• Test and optimise flight behaviours in SITL and real environments.
• Support sensor integration and ensure robust flight performance.
• Assist in software high-level requirements capture.

Skills

Experience with Ardupilot

Knowledge of MAVLink

Excellent working knowledge of C++

Experience with UAV tuning

Ability to work independently

Excellent problem-solving ability

Education

BSc or MSc degree in Engineering or Science
