Ardbeg House on the beautiful Scottish island of Islay, is seeking a Lead Bartender to champion the Ardbeg brand by leading the bar team in delivering exceptional service. This role encompasses not only the creation, education, and delivery of all drinks, but also the supervision and mentoring of the bartending staff. You will ensure a consistently positive, friendly, and professional atmosphere for visitors, customers, suppliers, and colleagues. You will be instrumental in driving revenue streams and exceeding budgeted targets.

Job Responsibilities

• Passionately advocate and act as an ambassador for the Ardbeg brand.
• Attain the level of knowledge required to be Ardbeg Mixologist.
• Supervising and coordinating the activities of other bartenders and bar staff.
• Be able to share and educate consumers on using the Ardbeg range within cocktails & tastings.
• Assisting in the development of new cocktail recipes and seasonal drink menus.
• Prepare and deliver cocktail making sessions at both Ardbeg House and DVC.
• Lead cocktail service periods to ensure that quality of service delivery is at the expected level.
• Liaising with management and other departments to ensure smooth bar operations.
• Connect with customers to educate on the opportunities for promoting Ardbeg.
• Ensure tastings are carried out to the highest standard and that upsell opportunities are maximised.
• Maintain strong working knowledge of company products and services.
• Work closely with House Kitchen team to ensure Food and Cocktail journey work in tandem.
• Ensure that checklists are completed for appropriate shift pattern (opening or closing).
• Ensure all Health & Safety policies and procedures for Ardbeg House are understood and adhered to.

Professional/Technical Experience:

• Experienced in operating in busy operational environment
• Experienced in operating when precision and detail
• Experienced in offering a high level of customer service
• Needs to be able to show situational management skills – ability to deal with paying public through to MH VIPS, often at the same time
