Position

Position

Ardbeg House on the beautiful Scottish island of Islay, is seeking three Chef De Partie's to support the kitchen team in the day to day provision of food at Ardbeg House to the appropriate standard. You will assist with the development of menus and all aspects of food preparation, cleaning and ordering. You will ensure that all EHO procedures are followed to the highest level.

Job Responsibilities

  • Receive, check and store deliveries.
  • Manage stores effectively, liaising with Head and Sous Chef for ordering.
  • Prepare mise-en-place for service.
  • Prepare and deliver menu items to the correct standard as required.
  • Organise the preparation of any speciality dishes.
  • Ensure kitchen rotas are adhered to in order to manage HR resources effectively.
  • Support and assist other team members in order to exceed goals and create a positive environment.
  • Ensure all Health & Safety and Hygiene policies and procedures for the Ardbeg House kitchen are understood and adhered to.
  • To ensure that the necessary risk assessments, accident and incident reports, and routine inspections in relation to kitchen areas are completed, logged, and communicated as required.
  • To understand and enact, as required, fire safety and emergency procedures, including evacuation procedure.

Profile

Professional/Technical Experience:

  • Experienced in operating in quality catering environment
  • Experienced in operating when precision and detail are required
  • Experienced in offering a high level of customer service
  • Ability/potential to cook to Rosette standard
  • Use of Stock systems/Till systems beneficial
  • Can’t be afraid of technology
  • Needs to be able to show situational management skills – ability to deal with different personalities/stresses in a kitchen environment

Key Competencies:

  • Good sense of humour – needs to reflect the brand through their tone of voice
  • Ability to connect easily with people
  • Wants to be involved and engaged in seeing the business continue to go from strength to strength
