Job summary

Matchtech is seeking an Architecture Lead (Principal Systems Engineer) in the United Kingdom to steer system architectural design across the engineering lifecycle.

You will champion modelling best practices with MagicGrid, manage Cameo tooling and integrations, and guide the team to reduce technical risk.

Collaboration with requirements, integration stakeholders and cross-sector teams will be key to delivering robust, verifiable system architectures.

Responsibilities

• Define architecture deliverables and work packages to progress engineering lifecycle.
• Develop and lead modelling best practices using the MagicGrid framework.
• Maintain the Cameo SSNA architecture tool, including server administration with IT support.
• Develop the SQEP of the Systems Team and ensure architecture outputs are configuration managed.
• Lead the architecture team to collaboratively develop the system architecture with stakeholders to reduce technical risk.
• Direct architecture development to enable Requirements and Integration activities, including system requirements, test and V&V.

The Architecture Lead (Principal Systems Engineer)

Responsibilities include:

• Define architecture-related deliverables and work packages, supporting the programme's progression through engineering lifecycle phases and reviews. Develop the architecture in response to evolving programme needs and maintain the Architecture Management Plan
• Develop and lead the implementation of modelling best practice within the programme using the MagicGrid framework, aligning with group capability.
• Maintain and implement the SSNA architecture tool (Cameo) within the programme. Including plugin implementation and server administration, with support from IT and cross-sector stakeholders.
• Develop the SQEP of the Systems Team and wider programme. Ensure all architecture outputs are correct and are configuration managed within the Architecture tool and PLM.
• Lead the architecture team to collaboratively develop the system architecture with technical stakeholders to represent the desired system behaviours and structure, incorporating middle-out design, identifying conflicts and voids, and ultimately reducing technical risk.
• Direct the architecture development so it enables Requirements and Integration stakeholders to deliver the engineering lifecycle, including the development of system requirements, subsystem requirements, test and integration activity, and V&V.
