Job description

• Lead the development and coordination of architectural and façade packages across RIBA Stages 2-7
• Drive the integration of low-carbon materials, advanced insulation systems, and sustainable retrofit solutions
• Oversee detailing, compliance, and buildability of wall, roof, and glazing systems
• Provide technical leadership on retrofit projects, including internal and external insulation, over-cladding, and fire safety compliance
• Manage BIM outputs and 3D modelling to ensure data-rich, coordinated design delivery
• Conduct condition assessments and develop upgrade strategies for heritage and conservation-led buildings
• Chair design reviews, assess material performance, and facilitate value engineering where appropriate
• Liaise with local authorities, planning consultants, and delivery teams to secure approvals and resolve site issues
• Oversee quality control during construction and support post-occupancy evaluations of façade systems

What We're Looking For:

Experience & Expertise:

• Demonstrable experience leading facade and architectural design on complex retrofit or envelope-heavy projects
• Strong technical knowledge across detailing, thermal performance, and UK Building Regulations
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams through RIBA design and delivery stages
• Proficient in BIM-based workflows, model review, and 3D coordination
• Proven ability to work on live construction projects, solving challenges on-site
• A background in low-energy or zero-carbon architecture is highly desirable

Qualifications for the Architectural & Facade Lead:

• Degree in Architecture, Facade Engineering, or a related discipline (MArch/MSc/BSc)
• Chartered status with RIBA, SFE, or equivalent professional body preferred
• Retrofit Designer certification (PAS 2035) or similar accreditation advantageous
