Company Profile

Established RIBA award-winning eco-construction company, Bow Tie Construction, seeks a talented Architectural Technologist / Technician. We work in the residential market, with project values ranging from £600K to £4M.

With projects on Grand Designs, Old House New Home, and Don’t Move, Improve!, the successful candidate will work for London’s premium Passivhaus construction company. This role offers ownership of 3D deliverables and the opportunity to develop skills in 3D construction design from inception to completion.

Role and Team Profile

This is a maternity leave cover from May 2025 to August 2026, based in High Wycombe (HP12).

You will join a team of two, with one member leaving for maternity in late July. Collaborate with finance, technical, project, and site teams. About 30% of projects are Design and Build, 70% are traditional contracts involving M&E and structural coordination in Revit. After the trial, hybrid working is available.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed architectural drawings in Revit
  • Collaborate on design modifications based on requirements
  • Create 3D models and visualisations
  • Coordinate services like UFH, MVHR, Plant rooms, Drainage
  • Maintain project change records
  • Provide detailed site design support
  • Use Matterport 3D scanner for site scans
  • Design bespoke products like stairs and balustrades in Inventor

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years in a similar role
  • Proficiency in Revit; AutoCAD experience desirable
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations and RIBA stages
  • Attention to detail and self-learning skills

Additional Skills

  • Knowledge of planning processes
  • Experience with Passivhaus and sustainable design
  • Understanding of construction sequencing
  • Product design experience
