Job description

Role: Architectural Technologist/Technical Coordinator

Location: Wakefield

Salary: Up to £55k plus car allowance and package

Type: Permanent

Linsco is working with a well-established and highly reputable construction company that is looking to hire a Technical Coordinator or an Architectural Technologist with experience managing the entire process and ready to move away from hands-on technical work. The successful candidate will coordinate all technical information between external consultants and internal departments throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring all approvals are obtained and information is properly managed for a prompt start on site.

Main Duties:

  1. Ensure all drawings and details are accurate and commercially suitable throughout the design and construction phases.
  2. Liaise with relevant colleagues on technical matters.
  3. Attend meetings to update, collate, and discuss technical issues.
  4. Coordinate design team meetings involving internal and external participants.
  5. Participate in site meetings as required.
  6. Manage the planning process.
  7. Agree on construction specifications, SAP, and BREEAM strategies.
  8. Assist Commercial and Buying teams in reviewing and approving subcontractor design information.
  9. Ensure design information is accurate, timely, and meets client requirements.
  10. Maintain cost-effective design controls.
  11. Manage all current drawings, documents, and information for contracts.
  12. Review contract documentation, warranties, and bonds with the Contracts Manager.
  13. Review planning approvals to ensure conditions are met before site commencement.
  14. Secure statutory approvals for engineering design and ground remediation.
  15. Coordinate Temporary Works designs.
  16. Attend site visits and meetings to resolve issues during construction.
  17. Anticipate and incorporate new regulation requirements.
  18. Coordinate Building Control submissions and related documentation.
