Architectural Technologist
Location: West Sussex
Salary: £34-40,000 (dependent on experience)
An established and award-winning architectural practice is seeking a skilled Architectural Technologist to join its West Sussex studio on a full-time basis. With a strong reputation for delivering innovative design solutions across the residential, retrofit, cladding remediation, and healthcare sectors, this is a unique opportunity to become part of a collaborative and experienced team.
The role involves taking responsibility for the technical delivery of projects from early design stages through to completion. The Architectural Technologist will play a key role in developing detailed design packages, coordinating with consultants and contractors, and ensuring compliance with UK regulations and best practice construction standards.
Key Responsibilities
Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications across all RIBA stages
Coordinate design information with internal teams and external consultants
Ensure all work complies with current UK Building Regulations and industry standards
Work within a BIM environment using Revit to support project delivery
Prepare and review construction documentation, submittals, and technical reports
Contribute to on-site inspections and contract administration activities
Support a range of projects, particularly in the residential, healthcare, and retrofit sectors
Key Requirements
Degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent qualification
Sufficient experience in a similar role within the UK architecture industry
Strong technical detailing and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Revit and a sound understanding of BIM workflows
Solid knowledge of UK planning, building regulations, and construction methods
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Experience in cladding remediation and healthcare projects is highly advantageous
