  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues.

Architectural Technologist

Location: West Midlands (Shrewsbury or Birmingham office location)
Salary: £30-40,000 DOE

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Architectural Technologist to join a dynamic and creative team working across our Birmingham and Shrewsbury studios. Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed technical designs and construction packages aligned with the RIBA Plan of Work
  • Produce high-quality technical drawings, specifications, and reports
  • Ensure all design solutions are compliant with current UK Building Regulations and relevant legislation
  • Coordinate technical information and manage statutory submissions (Building Regs, Planning, etc.)
  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to resolve technical issues and deliver seamless project outcomes
  • Advise on materials, buildability, and sustainable construction techniques
  • Maintain project documentation and contribute to risk assessments and document control
  • Support project delivery from early technical design stages through to construction and handover

Ideal Candidate:

  • CIAT-qualified or working towards Chartered Membership
  • Proven experience in technical design and construction detailing across multiple sectors
  • Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, standards, and construction methodology
  • Proficiency in Revit is essential; knowledge of AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite is advantageous
  • Confident communicator and team player with a detail-focused mindset
  • Demonstrates commercial awareness and a problem-solving attitude
  • Committed to continuous learning and ongoing professional development
