Job summary

P+HS Architects in Leeds is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to lead and support the technical delivery of projects from concept to completion. You’ll work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are technically sound and delivered to the highest standards.

The role involves mentoring junior staff, coordinating drawings and specifications, and ensuring compliance with UK regulations.

Qualifications

  • Must be working toward or hold a degree in Architectural Technology or equivalent (BSc/HNC/HND).
  • Willing to join or become a member of ACIAT/ MCIAT accreditation path when applicable.
  • CSCS card required or to be obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams, managing technical delivery across RIBA stages.
  • Mentor junior team members and support the team.
  • Prepare and deliver drawings, specifications, and schedules, or manage the team to deliver these.
  • Undertake surveys and site visits as required.
  • Manage planning and Building Regulations approvals.
  • Maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Plan resources, monitor progress, and manage budgets and fees.
  • Ensure QA procedures and deliverables at each stage.
  • Provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Participate in technical reviews and meetings.
  • Travel to other offices as required.

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced, passionate and purpose-driven Architectural Technologist to join our talented team, leading and supporting the technical delivery of exciting projects across all RIBA design stages from concept to completion. This is a hands-on, technical role, with responsibility for managing, mentoring, and inspiring a project team.

You’ll work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring projects are technically sound, well-coordinated, and delivered to the highest standards.

Job Requirements
  • Willing to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (ACIAT)
  • Working towards a BSc or equivalent degree in Architectural Technology, or HNC/HND qualifications
  • If not already obtained, you should be willing to work towards MCIAT accreditation
  • You must hold a current CSCS card, or be willing to immediately obtain one
  • Experience in a similar technical role managing projects and project teams
  • Strong technical knowledge of relevant construction, health & safety legislation, planning standards, and UK building regulations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, adaptable attitude, able to respond to evolving project needsCommitment to personal and team professional development

  • Provide regular, supportive feedback to team members.
  • Participate in technical reviews, team meetings, and practice-wide events.
  • Travel to other offices as required.
