Job summary

P+HS Architects in Leeds is seeking an experienced Architectural Technologist to lead and support technical delivery across all RIBA stages, from concept to completion. This hands-on role requires coordinating project teams, mentoring juniors, and ensuring compliance with building regulations.

You will collaborate with clients, consultants and contractors, prepare drawings and specifications, undertake site visits, and manage statutory approvals while maintaining rigorous QA procedures.

Qualifications

  • Willing to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (ACIAT).
  • Working towards a BSc or equivalent degree in Architectural Technology, or HNC/HND qualifications.
  • Willing to work towards MCIAT accreditation if not yet obtained.
  • Hold a current CSCS card or be willing to obtain one promptly.
  • Experience in a similar technical role managing projects and teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction, health & safety legislation, planning standards, and UK building regs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive, adaptable attitude, responsive to evolving project needs.
  • Commitment to personal and team professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams, managing technical delivery across all RIBA stages.

  • Undertake surveys and site visits as required.
  • Manage statutory approvals, including Planning and Building Regulations.
  • Maintain strong client, consultant and contractor relationships.
  • Plan resources, monitor progress, and manage budgets and fees.
  • Ensure QA procedures and deliverables at each stage.
  • Provide regular feedback to team members.
  • Participate in technical reviews, meetings, and events.
  • Travel to other offices as required.

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced, passionate and purpose-driven Architectural Technologist to join our talented team, leading and supporting the technical delivery of exciting projects across all RIBA design stages from concept to completion. This is a hands‑on, technical role, with responsibility for managing, mentoring, and inspiring a project team.

You’ll work closely with clients, consultants, and contractors, ensuring projects are technically sound, well‑coordinated, and delivered to the highest standards.

Job Requirements
  • Willing to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (ACIAT)

  • Travel to other offices as required.
