Architectural Technician / Technologist
Location: South Coast, Dorset
Salary: £27-35,000 DOE

A design-led architecture and interiors studio based on the south coast of Dorset is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Technician or Technologist to join their growing team. The practice works across a diverse range of Residential, Commercial, Heritage, and Interior projects, with a strong focus on thoughtful, context-driven design and high-quality detailing. This is a studio-based role offering the opportunity to work on projects from early design stages through to completion, in a collaborative, design-focused environment. The successful candidate will have at least one year of experience working within a UK architectural practice and be confident producing detailed technical information for construction.

Daily Duties

  • Preparing and developing detailed technical drawings and construction packages
  • Producing accurate 2D and 3D documentation using Vectorworks (training can be provided)
  • Supporting planning, tender, and building regulation submissions
  • Liaising with consultants, contractors, and suppliers
  • Coordinating technical information across disciplines
  • Assisting the team in delivering projects on-site and during construction

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Architectural Technician or Technologist- post degree industry experience is essential in a UK based practice
  • Strong technical skills and an understanding of construction methods and detailing
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks is desirable (training available)
  • Good working knowledge of UK Building Regulations and standards
  • Organised, methodical, and able to manage tasks independently
  • Positive, team-focused attitude and keen to contribute to a small, design-led studio
