Job summary

Bellway plc is seeking an Architectural Technician to underpin its Technical team in Tamworth, with regular travel to development sites across the West Midlands. The role focuses on producing accurate architectural information and supporting cross-functional teams including Construction, Commercial and Sales.

You will develop divisional details, manage working packs, and mentor junior technicians while ensuring compliance with building regulations and NHBC standards.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential — experience of working with Autodesk Revit is desirable.
• Experience working with a housebuilder or residential developer in a technical, design or architectural function.
• Knowledge of building regulations and current NHBC standards.
• CSCS card or equivalent.
• Current full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain divisional details and specifications.
• Produce working pack drawings.
• Collaborate with external consultants and suppliers to deliver design solutions.
• Maintain the drawing management system.
• Support site teams with information requests.
• Attend site meetings and audits.
• Maintain awareness of CDM and CPD responsibilities.
• Mentor and manage Assistant Architectural Technicians, Trainee and Graduate Technicians.

There is an exciting opportunity to join Bellway, one of the UK’s largest house builders. Our West Midlands Division, based in Tamworth, Staffordshire, is looking to recruit an Architectural Technician to join the Division's Technical team. The role will involve regular travel to development sites across the wider West Midlands region.

The Role

The role of Architectural Technician will be to support the Senior Architectural Technician and the wider business — including our Construction, Commercial and Sales teams — in the execution of construction projects through ongoing support and timely delivery of accurate architectural and technical information.

Principle accountabilities of the role include:

• Development & maintenance of divisional details and specifications
• Production of working pack drawings
• Working alongside external consultants and suppliers to ensure complete design solution delivered in line with company standards
• Support the upkeep of our Drawing Management system
• Support site teams and colleagues with information requests
• Attend site-based meetings and audits as and when required
• Keep up to date with CDM and CPD responsibilities specific to the role
• Maintain awareness of current legislation and regulations, as well as understanding future regulations coming into effect within the industry
• Support, mentor and manage Assistant Architectural Technicians, Trainee and Graduate Technicians within the team

Experience, Qualifications and Skills

Experience

Qualified to degree level or HNC/HND in a Construction / Architectural Technology subject with relevant experience
