Job description

We are currently working with a well-established, design-led architectural practice based near Woking, now seeking an Architectural Technician to join their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically focused individual to contribute to the delivery of high-volume residential projects and progress within a thriving and forward-thinking studio.

With a strong client base including several leading national housebuilders, the practice specialises in delivering efficient, well-detailed housing schemes-from low-rise private developments to large-scale masterplans. Project values typically range from 10 to 500+ units, and the practice maintains a strong reputation for its collaborative approach and technical excellence.

As an Architectural Technician, you will be involved in the technical design and delivery of multiple projects, attending sites, liaising with developers and contractors, and preparing high-quality technical information. The practice uses AutoCAD as a core tool but is increasingly integrating Revit into project workflows, so a working knowledge of BIM would be highly beneficial.

  • Prepare technical drawings, working details, and construction packages
  • Work on a variety of residential developments from planning through to completion
  • Use AutoCAD daily; Revit knowledge is highly desirable
  • Attend site visits and liaise with contractors and external consultants
  • Support project delivery in collaboration with colleagues and clients
  • Ensure compliance with UK Building Regulations, NHBC standards, and relevant legislation
  • Based within commuting distance of Woking
  • Degree qualified in Architectural Technology or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in a UK architectural practice
  • Strong technical knowledge, particularly within the residential housing sector
  • Excellent understanding of UK Building Regulations, NBS, and British Standards
  • Proficient in AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit is advantageous
  • Confident communicator with experience attending client and site meetings
  • Self-motivated, organised, and able to manage workload across multiple projects

Architectural Technician Salary & Benefits

  • 20 days annual leave + Bank Holidays
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Regular social events and team activities
  • Ongoing training, development and progression opportunities
  • Other benefits to be discussed at interview
