Architectural Technologist

Location: Guildford

Salary: £32000-£40000 (dependent on experience)

A well-established, design-focused architectural practice in Guildford is seeking a talented and proactive Architectural Technologist to join its growing team. This RIBA-chartered firm is widely respected for delivering high-quality projects across the commercial, residential, retail, and education sectors. With a strong commitment to technical excellence and innovation, the studio fosters a collaborative, forward-thinking working environment.

The Role

The successful candidate will have proven experience in the retail sector and a confident ability to manage projects across all RIBA work stages. You will be responsible for producing technically robust, regulation-compliant solutions while maintaining close communication with clients, consultants, and contractors throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

Produce detailed technical drawings and specifications in collaboration with the design team

Lead projects from concept through to completion, including on-site coordination

Ensure compliance with UK building regulations and industry standards

Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and uphold design intent

Prepare planning applications and building control documentation

Work closely with architects, engineers and external consultants to deliver cohesive solutions

Requirements

Degree (or equivalent) in Architectural Technology

Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, detailing, and construction materials

Demonstrable experience delivering retail projects in a UK-based practice

Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability

Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

High proficiency in Revit (essential)
