Architectural Technologist/Technician

Our client is a dynamic forward thinking architectural practice dedicated to the delivery of high quality design led residential projects.

They are known for their creativity and technical expertise combining creativity with technical excellence, winning more and more beautiful residential design projects and creating beautiful homes

As part of this growth, they are working with us to source a talented Architectural Technologist/Technical Architect.

The Role

We are looking for a talented and driven individual to lead technical development across the practice.

This is a pivotal role for someone who is excited to implement new systems, refine workflows, and drive innovation - helping us to be better, faster, and smarter.

  • You will be responsible for leading project delivery, supporting the development of the team's technical expertise, and ensuring that every project is delivered efficiently, commercially, and to the highest standard.
  • Drive design and innovation through exploration of BIM workflows and the potential of AI in day to day operations.
  • Act as a Principal Designer (PD) "safe pair of hands" with robust knowledge of CDM regulations and health & safety obligations.
  • Mentor and train junior and mid-level team members to build technical knowledge and capability.
  • Oversee project delivery with a clear understanding of commercial pressures, program management, and budget control.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, and internal teams through excellent communication and collaboration skills.

About You

You will be a qualified Architect or Technologist with 5+ years' professional experience, ideally within a technical or delivery-focused role.

Proven leadership skills with the drive and passion to bring about positive change and continuous improvement, with a calm manner.

Knowledge of Passivhaus principals and systems, and experience of designing to similar standards of thermal efficiency and air tightness.

Expertise in BIM systems and enthusiasm for exploring AI applications in architecture.

Strong technical knowledge of construction, detailing, and UK building regulations.

An approachable and supportive team member, committed to developing others.

Proficient in 3D CAD packages and confident in hand-drawing/sketching.
