Job summary

Sureserve in the United Kingdom is seeking an Architectural Technician to support renewable energy upgrades and build warrant planning applications. You’ll join a collaborative design team to ensure quality, compliance and timely submissions across multiple properties.

The role requires an accredited Architectural Technology qualification, strong Revit/CAD skills, and knowledge of EWI/insulation and planning processes.

Qualifications

• Accredited qualification in Architectural Technology or equivalent.
• Knowledge of insulation measures, thermal bridges (EWI/IWI).
• Experience with Building Notices, Warrants and Planning across UK.
• Advanced Revit and CAD skills.
• Familiarity with renewables (PV/ASHP) and planning processes.
• Strong time management and ability to track multiple applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drawings and plans for building warrant applications for EWI and renewables.
• Track live applications, submit amendments, and keep CAD/Revit up to date.
• Maintain up-to-date drawings and paperwork for warrants; liaise with authorities.
• Issue drawings/specifications to the operations contract team.
• Respond to local authority queries on planning and warrants.

You’ll play a key role in preparing building warrant and planning applications while growing alongside a team that values quality, environment, and working together. The remit:

• Prepare drawings and plans for building warrant applications covering External Wall Insulation and other renewable upgrades, including solar panels and ASHP installs
• Track the progress of live applications and submit amendments or new applications for additional properties and projects, keeping CAD and Revit drawings to quality standards
• Keep drawings and paperwork for statutory building warrants up to date, liaise with the relevant bodies and arrange investigatory works and testing
• Issue up-to-date drawings and specifications to the operational contract team
• Respond to local authority queries on planning and building warrant applications

Required Skills & Experience

• HNC/HND/BSc Hons in Architectural Technology
• Knowledge of insulation measures and thermal bridge (EWI/IWI/RIR/FRI/UFI)
• Experience with Building Notices, Building Warrants, Planning Applications across UK including Listed Building Consents
• Advanced knowledge of Revit / Cad
• Basic knowledge of renewables (PV & ASHP)
• Strong time management, with the ability to prioritise multiple applications and meet submission deadlines
• Well organised, with the ability to keep drawings, documents and application records accurate and up to date across concurrent jobs
