The Architectural Technician Role:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Architectural Technician to join a growing, multi-disciplinary team based in Chelmsford. The company delivers large-scale, residential-led development projects and is looking to expand its regional presence to support planning and technical delivery across the South and East of England.

You'll work on a variety of housing and master planning schemes, producing high-quality planning and technical drawing packages for projects at various stages from pre-application through to delivery. The role will involve close collaboration with local planning authorities, clients and consultants.

This is an excellent long-term opportunity for an Architectural Technician seeking involvement in major residential developments while progressing their career in a supportive and design-led environment.

To be considered for the Architectural Technician position:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in an architectural practice, ideally focused on large-scale residential schemes
  • Proven experience delivering UK-based housing projects for national housebuilders, land promoters or developers
  • Comfortable liaising with local planning authorities and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is essential (Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office also desirable)
  • Solid understanding of UK Building Regulations and planning legislation
  • Ability to prepare and submit planning packs with an eye for layout and annotated visual communication
  • A strong design portfolio demonstrating both technical and conceptual ability
