A family-run housebuilder is seeking an Architectural Technician in Bury St Edmunds to manage planning submissions and site projects. You'll need previous experience in a design department within the residential sector and a minimum HNC in construction. Qualifications

  • Experience in a residential background or new build house-builder.
  • Able to manage projects on site effectively.
  • Skill in producing relevant plans and documents for planning.

Responsibilities

  • Produce plans in support of planning submissions.
  • Handle queries and liaise with planners as needed.
  • Manage site projects and ensure compliance with planning.

Job description

As an Architectural Technician, you will be involved in the preparation and submission of major planning applications in line with the Region's budget. You will have the pleasure of seeing these developments come to life and ultimately become people's homes. You will also be responsible for:

  • Producing relevant plans and documents in support of planning submissions.
  • Managing projects on site.
  • Handling queries when they arise.
  • Liaising with planners on planning related matters as and when required.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Previous experience in a Design and Technical Department in a residential background or new build house-builder.
  • A minimum HNC in construction or related subject.
  • Computer / IT literate with capability to use excel, Word and database packages.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD.
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) grade 4 or above including maths and English.
