Job summary

A leading design consultancy in the UK is seeking a Technical Designer with strong experience in producing drawings and construction details. The ideal candidate will have practical skills and a solid understanding of integrating AV technology within design frameworks. Responsibilities include liaising with subcontractors and ensuring that projects meet technical and aesthetic standards. Candidates with experience in RIBA Stages 4-7 will be prioritized, but generalists with a strong drawing background are also welcome.

Job description

We are working with this global creative agency and design & deliver Visitor Centres, Museums & Attractions and another who deliver Events & Exhibitions.

The roles are primarily focused on producing drawings, developing construction details, and liaising with subcontractors — so experience in this area within our sector is important.

We are looking for someone who is practically minded, able to balance aesthetics with a strong understanding of technical integration (e.g., how screens are built into setworks while remaining accessible for maintenance, etc.).

As a Technical Designer, you will have strong experience across RIBA Stages 4–7. A generalist would also be very welcome, provided they have strong experience in drawing packages but looking for someone with experience across the various elements that make up our projects — AV integration, setworks, object cases, lighting etc.
