Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Architectural Technician to join our York Division based in Elvington.

Experience of working in Construction as an Architectural Technician or transferable skills in construction design (i.e. architect, engineer, technologist) is highly desirable as is having a broad understanding of all design disciplines.

You will be based within our BMS Small Works team where the majority of the projects will be alterations and refurbishments. This could be an extension, moving of windows, doors etc. Do to the high volume of projects, we are looking for someone who understands the importance of working to deadlines.

The role would best suit someone who has previous CAD experience ideally within a construction company as you will require a knowledge of BIM standards or a Graduate who has completed a placement within a building company.

Ability to review and interrogate design information

Understanding of current building legislation

Ability to plan and monitor design progress against construction programme

Ability to implement value engineering suggestions

AutoCAD/Revit training

Ability to lead design team meetings

Working to BIM standards

Working with document control systems to manage and distribute information

Strong communication skills

Leadership skills

Ability to work in multiple project teams

The ability to do in house design i.e. Architect or Technologist would be highly advantageous as would experience working in BREEAM projects, Passivhaus/AECB experience couple with the ability to review BRUKL assessments
