Architectural CAD Engineer (Surveying) | Ely, Cambridgeshire | £30,000 - £40,000

We are working with a growing Design & Build consultancy based in Ely seeking to appoint an Architectural CAD Engineer with experience in surveying to support a wide range of projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically minded CAD professional or building surveyor who enjoys hands-on site work and detailed design. You'll be involved across all stages of projects—from initial survey and data capture to detailed 2D/3D design and client delivery.

Location: Ely, Cambridgeshire

Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Hours: Monday to Friday

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out site-based surveys to collect technical data and measurements for design use
  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings, including plans, elevations, and technical detailing
  • Work closely with project teams and clients to ensure designs meet technical and aesthetic requirements
  • Attend design and coordination meetings, supporting projects from concept through to completion
  • Manage workload across multiple live projects and ensure deadlines are met
  • Maintain clear and accurate project records, including as-built drawings and survey documentation
  • Resolve technical issues and discrepancies within drawings and specifications
  • Apply current UK design standards and construction regulations to all work
Skills & Experience Required
  • Experience in architectural or surveying-based CAD work
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit
  • Background in architecture, engineering, construction, or building surveying
  • A degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field
  • Comfortable working on site and interacting with clients and contractors
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to produce precise and accurate drawings
  • Strong organisational skills - able to manage time and priorities effectively
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (occasional travel to sites required)
  • Security Clearance (or ability to obtain clearance)
