The Architectural Assistant – Part 2 will develop scheme designs and produce detailed drawing packages using Revit and AutoCAD, supporting planning and Building Regulations through tender and construction.

Qualifications

• RIBA Part 2 qualification or equivalent with Part 2 exemption.
• Experience producing architectural and technical drawings.
• Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD.
• Understanding of UK Building Regulations and planning processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Proactive towards professional development and Part 3 progression.
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Develop scheme designs and produce detailed architectural drawings for planning and construction.
• Prepare working drawing packages for tender and construction and liaise with Building Control and consultants.
• Assist with technical specifications and procurement with suppliers.
• Undertake measured building surveys and attend site meetings as required.
• Support the Project Architect during construction and help run projects under supervision.

Job description

An established multi-disciplinary property and construction consultancy is looking to appoint an Architectural Assistant – Part 2 to join their growing architectural team in Billericay. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Architectural Assistant – Part 2 looking to gain varied project experience within a supportive and collaborative environment.

The successful Architectural Assistant – Part 2 will work across a diverse portfolio of projects, including education, residential, healthcare, social housing and public sector schemes. Working alongside Architects and other technical professionals, the Architectural Assistant – Part 2 will contribute from planning and detailed design through to tender and construction.

The Architectural Assistant – Part 2 Role

The Architectural Assistant – Part 2 will assist with developing scheme designs and producing detailed architectural and technical drawing packages using Revit and AutoCAD.

Responsibilities will include preparing planning and Building Regulations drawings, producing working drawing packages for tender and construction, liaising with Building Control, consultants, contractors and specialist suppliers, and assisting with technical specifications.

The Architectural Assistant – Part 2 will also undertake measured building surveys, attend site meetings where required and support the Project Architect during the construction phase. There will also be opportunities to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of individual projects under appropriate supervision.

The successful Architectural Assistant – Part 2 will have:

• RIBA Part 2 qualification, or a recognised Master’s/Diploma in Architecture providing Part 2 exemption
• Experience producing architectural and technical drawings
• Working knowledge of Revit and AutoCAD
• Understanding of UK Building Regulations and planning processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• A proactive approach to professional development and progressing towards Part 3 qualification
• Eligibility to live and work in the UK
