Job summary

McGirr Architects Ltd in Belfast is seeking an experienced Architect to join our practice. The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years’ post-qualification experience, with strong design, technical and project management skills.

The role offers the opportunity to work on a range of projects across education, community, commercial and residential sectors throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.

Qualifications

• ARB-registered Architect with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
• Experience designing, managing and delivering projects across RIBA and/or RIAI Work Stages.
• Strong technical detailing and construction knowledge.
• Experience preparing planning applications, construction drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
• Experience in contract administration and construction-stage delivery.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant architectural software.
• Strong communication, organisational and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience delivering education or public-sector projects.
• Knowledge of Irish Building Regulations, planning processes and construction contracts.
• Experience using Revit.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead architectural design and technical delivery for diverse projects.
• Prepare planning applications, construction drawings, specifications and tender docs.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary design teams across education, community, commercial and residential sectors.
• Manage projects from conception through delivery in Northern Ireland and ROI.
