Job description

RIBA award-winning practice AR Design Studio is looking for a Project Architect to join the team!

Based in the beautiful city of Winchester, AR Design Studio is an energetic and highly motivated architectural practice working on a diverse range of projects. Principally the practice is renowned for its focus on high quality design of award winning one off houses. The practice prides itself on working with great clients and exciting sites to create innovative architecture.

The candidate will need to be a Qualified Architect capable of managing projects on site. Ideally experienced in contract administration and be able to fulfil the role of Project Architect through all work stages. Candidates will have excellent experience of the technical and construction stages alongside a strong eye for design and the ability to apply architectural concepts at multiple scales. The role will predominantly be focused on technical and construction stages as opposed to the planning/design stages.

  • RIBA Part III qualification
  • At least one year post Part III experience in practice
  • Experience across all work stages, specialising in technical and construction stages
  • Experience with UK Building Regulations
  • Technical knowledge & experience of construction, detailing, experience in writing specifications is essential
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations Experience with post planning requirements (conditions compliance, CIL)
  • The ability to communicate well with clients and consultants is essential.
  • Experience dealing with contractors and subcontractors, as well as consultants
  • Ability to manage workload independently as well as being able to communicate & work in a team
  • Proficient English language skills are also a must

The candidate should be friendly and efficient at work, whilst being able to work independently or as part of a team. Our studio is young and sociable, and requires new staff to be happy to engage with this side of the practice.

Please be aware this role is full time based in our Winchester Studio.

Computer skills required: AutoCAD and Sketchup (a working knowledge of Revit is useful though not essential)

Salary will be dependent on experience and in line with RIBA guidelines. Interviews to commence immediately. No agencies please.
