Job description

This role is for a creative individual seeking a unique opportunity to develop their career within a dynamic family business, based at the Family Office in Rheged, Penrith.

You will join our in-house design team, contributing to the design and delivery of our diverse programme of building and refurbishment projects across our nationwide estate. Our projects include curated refurbishments and new multi-million-pound developments as we expand into new locations. Our team comprises qualified architects, interior designers, and project managers who collaborate closely with other business units such as Brand & Marketing, Operations, Commercial, Food, IT, People & Safety. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Report to the Building & Design Director to assist with the design and implementation of our Capital Projects Plan.
  2. Collaborate with in-house teams and external partners on project development.
  3. Create high-quality design outputs, including 2D drawings, 3D visuals, and presentation materials.
  4. Manage the workflow of external consultants, such as architects, engineers, surveyors, and specialists.
  5. Perform project management tasks as required.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Minimum RIBA Part 2 Qualification, with plans to complete RIBA Part 3 (mentoring provided).
  • Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design software, ideally Autodesk (AutoCAD / LT or Revit), SketchUp, and Adobe Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, etc.).
  • Experience with rendering packages like Enscape or similar.
  • Passion for design, architecture, and interiors.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Highly organized with a desire for continuous improvement.
  • Industry experience in an architectural office preferred.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to work within budgets and deadlines.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
