Job summary

Pick Everard is seeking a Senior Architect to lead the design team from early design through delivery across a varied programme including custodial projects. You will shape projects in London, Nottingham or Bristol while delivering sustainable, technically excellent solutions for clients.

Working with senior leadership, you will manage briefs, programmes and budgets, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams. Strong Revit skills and MoJ/custodial project experience are desirable.

Qualifications

  • UK registration and Chartered Architect status required.
  • Proven track record delivering complex architectural projects.
  • Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams from concept to completion.
  • Strong Revit proficiency and coordination capabilities.
  • Excellent communication with clients and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, technical detailing, specification and coordination across project stages.
  • Develop and manage project briefs, programmes and budgets with the Project Director.
  • Act as a key client liaison and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Job description

As a Senior Architect, you will collaborate closely with senior leadership, taking responsibility for leading the design team and supporting successful project delivery across the RIBA stages. You will work across a varied programme of work within the custodial sector, providing breadth and variety while enabling you to shape projects from early design through to delivery. Your focus will be on providing exceptional service while delivering creative, sustainable and technically excellent solutions for our clients. Core Responsibilities
  • Working closely with the Project Director to develop, manage, and oversee project briefs, fee proposals, programmes, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring projects are delivered successfully and efficiently.
  • Leading the design, technical detailing, specification, and coordination of projects, driving high-quality outcomes across all project stages.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and the wider project team, building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Planning, organising, and chairing project meetings, design reviews, and coordination workshops to ensure progress and alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Managing and coordinating multidisciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring the successful integration of all disciplines.
  • Keeping the Project Director or Senior Architectural Lead informed of project progress, risks, and opportunities, seeking guidance and support where required.

Our Architectural team works across an array of sectors, including blue light, commercial, custodial, education, healthcare, industrial, leisure and residential. If you have experience delivering within any of these areas.

Qualifications
  • RIBA Part 3 qualification and ARB registration.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience, with a proven track record of delivering complex architectural projects.
  • Experience leading large-scale, multidisciplinary project teams from concept through to completion.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, with strong technical and coordination capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build strong relationships across clients, consultants, and project teams.
  • A collaborative and proactive approach, coupled with a positive attitude and a passion for delivering exceptional design outcomes.
  • A strong understanding of sustainable design principles and their practical application within the built environment (desirable).
  • Previous experience delivering projects for the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) or within custodial environments (desirable).
  • Experience using NBS Chorus (desirable).
