Senior Architect – Residential & Commercial Projects
Location: Near Maidenhead
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (DOE), up to £70,000 for the right candidate
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

We’re working with a design-led architecture and construction practice near Maidenhead that’s looking to appoint a Senior Architect to take ownership of residential and commercial schemes from concept to completion.

With project values typically between £100k and £3m, the role offers full involvement across the design and delivery lifecycle. You’ll be working closely with a highly experienced Part 3 architect (30+ years in practice), leading junior team members and playing a key role in shaping how projects are delivered on the ground.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on project ownership and is confident running schemes through planning, technical design and construction. It may suit an architect currently travelling into London who’s looking for a more rewarding local role with less commuting, more autonomy, and real influence.

Onsite presence is important – the role involves mentoring junior staff and working closely with the in-house construction team, so regular team engagement is essential.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading residential and commercial projects through RIBA Stages 3-5

• Preparing and managing planning applications and consultant coordination

• Producing and overseeing technical design packages and working drawings

• Taking full ownership of projects from initial brief to site completion

• Supporting and mentoring Part 1 and Part 2 team members

• Working closely with a senior Part 3 to ensure design quality and delivery standards

Requirements:

• ARB-registered Architect (RIBA Part 3)

• Minimum 8-10 years of UK experience

• Proven delivery of residential flats or mixed-use projects

• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and planning policy

• Proficient in AutoCAD (Revit a bonus)

• Based within a realistic commute of Maidenhead – onsite presence required

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience. Up to £70,000 available for an exceptional candidate.
