An Architect job is available with an AJ100 practice in London! You will be joining a dedicated team to work on a high-profile heritage project in London. This role offers a range of benefits and hybrid working!

Our client was founded in the 1940s and has grown to over 280 people across 11 UK offices, winning awards for Architect Employer of the Year! They have established themselves as an industry leader in planning advice, heritage consultancy, building surveying, conservation, and contemporary architecture.

Working with public bodies, charities, trusts, private companies, contractors, developers, and individuals, this practice has been involved in the care and development of some of the best-loved buildings and places in the UK and abroad. The practice provides sensitive restoration and repair schemes and modern design in historic contexts, with bold and contemporary designs across various sectors including cultural, master planning, education, ecclesiastical, public, hospitality, residential, and many more.

They now have an Architect role available working on one of the UK's most high-profile heritage projects in London.

Role & Responsibilities

  1. Support multiple projects across all RIBA stages, collaborating with senior staff to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
  2. Apply conservation principles under guidance for historic buildings, ensuring compliance with heritage regulations and guidelines.
  3. Contribute to design development and technical detailing, ensuring solutions are contextually sensitive and align with building regulations.
  4. Assist senior architects in managing client relationships and preparing design proposals for stakeholders.
  5. Conduct site visits to ensure designs meet building regulations and conservation standards, supporting quality monitoring.
  6. Integrate sustainable and energy-efficient solutions into projects, applying innovative practices where relevant.
  7. Assist in managing project budgets and preparing fee proposals, contributing to project delivery within budget constraints.

Required Skills & Experience

  1. A qualified Architect with a minimum of 3 years UK project experience is essential.
  2. Experience managing and delivering projects from concept through to completion.
  3. Proficiency in Revit (BIM), AutoCAD (technical drawing), and NBS (specifications), enabling efficient production of accurate documentation and effective collaboration with the project team.
  4. Excellent design capabilities with a meticulous eye for detail, producing high-quality, accurate drawings that communicate design ideas effectively.
  5. Comprehensive understanding of UK building codes, planning regulations, and statutory requirements, ensuring designs comply with legal frameworks and planning applications.
  6. Strong communication skills, capable of articulating design concepts and technical details clearly and professionally to clients, contractors, and team members.
  7. Hands-on experience across all RIBA stages, from concept design to post-occupancy evaluation.
  8. Interest or background in conservation architecture, ensuring designs are sensitive to historical and cultural significance, adhering to conservation standards.
