Job description

Our client, a well-established Architectural Practice based in Leeds, are seeking an Architect to join their growing team. The successful Architect will ideally have around 2-4 years' post-qualification experience and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting residential projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Architect to join a busy and thriving practice with a strong pipeline of work and excellent career prospects.

The ideal Architect will have a good balance of design and technical ability, with experience working through the planning process and confidence developing projects from concept through to planning. Previous residential experience would be highly advantageous, although candidates with experience across other sectors will also be considered. The practice is particularly interested in Architects who are keen to become more involved in project running, client interaction and taking responsibility for projects as they develop.

The successful Architect will be responsible for developing design proposals, preparing planning information, coordinating with consultants and assisting with the delivery of projects through the relevant RIBA stages. There will also be opportunities to take on increasing responsibility for project delivery and job running as experience develops.

Architect Position Overview
  • Develop design proposals across a variety of exciting projects
  • Prepare and develop planning applications and associated information
  • Work across RIBA Stages 2 and 3, with exposure to other stages where appropriate
  • Produce high-quality architectural drawings and presentation information
  • Work alongside consultants and other members of the design team
  • Coordinate project information and contribute to the successful delivery of projects
  • Liaise with clients and wider project stakeholders
  • Assist with project delivery and take increasing responsibility for job running
  • Contribute to design development and technical coordination
  • Work across a variety of residential projects and other sectors where required
Architect Position Requirements
  • ARB registered Architect
  • Ideally 2-4 years' post-qualification experience
  • Candidates with approximately 1-2 years either side of this level will also be considered
  • Previous residential experience is highly advantageous but not essential
  • Strong design ability with a good understanding of the planning process
  • Experience preparing and submitting planning applications
  • Good understanding of the architectural design and construction process
  • Experience working across RIBA Stages 2 and 3
  • Good knowledge of Revit or relevant architectural software
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach to project delivery
  • Keen to develop towards project running and client-facing responsibilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a wider design team
  • Live in or around Leeds
