Job summary

AECOM in Greater London is seeking an individual to join their multi-disciplinary design teams in an architectural role. Your responsibilities will include managing various design stages, client presentations, and ensuring detailed project documentation.

Job Description

You’ll be working closely within multi‑disciplinary design teams, with clients and contractors. Experience in infrastructure design would be advantageous, though not a pre‑requisite.

Job Duties
  • General duties on a range of projects and design stages, including design, detailing, drawing, contract administration and site inspections.
  • Where appropriate for your level of experience, acting as project leader on small to medium sized projects.
  • Presenting to clients and prospective clients.
  • General administrative and management duties appropriate to architectural practice.
  • Assisting in the preparation of design work and presentations, the production of the technical delivery of projects including working drawings, specification writing and contract documentation.
Specific Skills Required
  • Proficient in CAD; training available for software such as Bentley Mircostation / Aecosim, AutoCAD and REVIT.
  • Hands‑on experience with 3D modelling in REVIT required.
  • Knowledge of parametric modelling software (Rhino/Grasshopper, Solidworks) is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided.
  • Knowledge of presentation software (Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, Powerpoint, Lumion) is useful; training can be provided.
  • Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) such as B360, ProjectWise, AutoDesk Docs.
  • Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic.
  • Attention to detail and methodical thinking in design, planning and project organization.
  • English language proficiency with strong communication skills.
  • Eligible to work in the UK.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree qualification, preferably with Diploma or Master’s in a university course; Master’s is not mandatory.
  • Recent experience on medium to large multi‑disciplinary design projects.
  • Some experience of building contracts.
  • Knowledge of UK building systems, standards, regulations and construction types.
  • IT literacy, including CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines.
Preferred Minimum Qualifications
  • University level architectural and/or engineering qualification.
