Job Description
You’ll be working closely within multi‑disciplinary design teams, with clients and contractors. Experience in infrastructure design would be advantageous, though not a pre‑requisite.
Job Duties
- General duties on a range of projects and design stages, including design, detailing, drawing, contract administration and site inspections.
- Where appropriate for your level of experience, acting as project leader on small to medium sized projects.
- Presenting to clients and prospective clients.
- General administrative and management duties appropriate to architectural practice.
- Assisting in the preparation of design work and presentations, the production of the technical delivery of projects including working drawings, specification writing and contract documentation.
Specific Skills Required
- Proficient in CAD; training available for software such as Bentley Mircostation / Aecosim, AutoCAD and REVIT.
- Hands‑on experience with 3D modelling in REVIT required.
- Knowledge of parametric modelling software (Rhino/Grasshopper, Solidworks) is advantageous but not essential; training can be provided.
- Knowledge of presentation software (Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, Powerpoint, Lumion) is useful; training can be provided.
- Familiarity with Common Data Environments (CDE) such as B360, ProjectWise, AutoDesk Docs.
- Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic.
- Attention to detail and methodical thinking in design, planning and project organization.
- English language proficiency with strong communication skills.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Degree qualification, preferably with Diploma or Master’s in a university course; Master’s is not mandatory.
- Recent experience on medium to large multi‑disciplinary design projects.
- Some experience of building contracts.
- Knowledge of UK building systems, standards, regulations and construction types.
- IT literacy, including CAD software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage a busy workload and meet deadlines.
Preferred Minimum Qualifications
- University level architectural and/or engineering qualification.
