Overview

Architect job in Bermondsey, London. A new Architect role focused on the creative reuse of iconic and historically significant buildings, combining conservation with innovative contemporary design. The role involves projects in cultural, public, and educational sectors, both in the UK and overseas. Our client is a leading architectural practice with a strong reputation in heritage and conservation, delivering masterplanning, feasibility studies, technical delivery, and on-site supervision that blends sensitive restoration with bold modern interventions.

Role & Responsibilities
  • Support projects across all RIBA stages under senior guidance
  • Collaborate with heritage consultants and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Contribute to design development and technical detailing for historic buildings
  • Apply conservation principles under guidance and integrate sustainable solutions
  • Assist in managing project budgets and fee proposals
  • Use BIM (Revit, AutoCAD, NBS) for design coordination and documentation
  • Attend site visits and monitor quality
Required Skills & Experience
  • Part 3 qualified Architect with at least 4 years' experience in UK practice
  • Strong design capabilities with attention to detail and high-quality drawing production
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Cloud; Revit and NBS desirable
  • Good knowledge of UK Building Regulations and planning processes
  • Experience in project running and contract administration
  • Interest in architecture within historical contexts; conservation experience desirable
