Department: Architecture

Location: Cardiff

Description
We are looking for a recently qualified Architect with job-running skills and a track record of high quality design for our Cardiff studio. Hybrid working is available, with core days in our city centre, purpose designed studio.
Architects will carry out architectural tasks under the supervision of a project leader, usually as part of a team. They will be expected to have reasonable technical knowledge and be able to apply this to all stages of project design. They will have advanced presentation skills, and competence with Revit.

Skills, Abilities and Competencies
Design
  • An excellent understanding of the design process.
  • Ability to translate concept into detail design and understand how to identify and design key construction details.
  • Ability to manage a project in accordance with the RIBA Plan of Work.
  • Flexibility and openness in approach and willingness to work as a team player.
Delivery
  • Ability to produce CAD/Revit drawings efficiently.
  • Consistency and Accuracy.
  • Commitment to implementing GFA Management Systems.
  • A detailed understanding of how to detail for compliance requirements e.g. building regulations.
  • Detailed knowledge of UK Building Systems, Regulations and construction types.
  • Detailed knowledge of town planning procedures.
Skills
  • Reasonable level of Revit skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe Suite applications.
  • Good presentation skills, both verbally and visually using software and hand drawing skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret instructions.
  • Ability to work within a team effectively and deliver tight deadlines on time and on budget.
  • Ability to cope with change e.g. to brief, programme or role.
