Position: Field Archaeologist (Bolton)

We are seeking a field archaeologist based in Bolton to support our expanding regional projects. Candidates should have at least 3 months of site experience in commercial archaeology; however, graduates and those with equivalent experience and qualifications will also be considered.

Responsibilities
  1. Work as part of our team on various sites, including evaluations and excavations.
  2. Potential involvement in geophysics projects, if experienced or willing to learn.
  3. Utilize paper-based and digital recording systems for fieldwork documentation.
Candidate Requirements
  • Practical archaeological site experience.
  • Degree in archaeology or equivalent experience.
  • Valid driving license.
  • CIfA membership at PCIfA level.
Additional Information

Applicants must be flexible regarding travel and working hours, as projects are across the UK. We prioritize local assignments to benefit both archaeological and environmental outcomes. A full driving license and access to a car are required. We offer competitive benefits including subsistence, travel allowance, accommodation, and enhanced pay/TOIL for unsocial hours. Full-time staff are expected to work on-site 3 days a week on a hybrid basis.
