Job summary

The Cambridge Archaeological Unit (CAU) is recruiting an archaeological Surveyor to work across East Anglia on excavations, evaluations and surveys. You will record data in the field using GNSS, TPS and drone, then process it in the office with AutoCAD and ArcGIS Pro.

Join a small Survey Team, assist in producing client reports and publications, and work both in field and office with deadline-driven delivery and occasional lone working. Applications by 30 October 2026.

Qualifications

• Primary degree in Archaeology or equivalent experience considered.
• Experience using GNSS, TPS and drones in archaeology is essential.
• Good understanding of field drawing and planning.

Responsibilities

• Digitally record evaluations, excavations and watching briefs.
• Collect field data with GNSS, TPS and drone equipment.
• Process data in the office using AutoCAD and ArcGIS Pro.
• Support site directors and prepare plans for reports.
